"Ma, wait!"
Angela Rizzoli turned around and glared at her ungrateful daughter. "I'm just not going to sit here Jane, and listen to you tell me how much of a terrible mother I am."
"Ma, I never said you were a terrible mother. " Jane sighed running a hand through her hair. " All I want is a little space...is that so much to ask?"
"Janie--" Her mother closed her eyes for a brief moment, and took a deep breath. "Something is obviously bothering you...And it hurts that you won't talk to me about it."
Jane took one look at the hurt expression on the other woman's face, and groaned. She never could stand, that look on her mother's face. Her mother could be overbearing usually, but Jane loved her dearly. And her mother in her own way was just trying to help.
Jane walked across the room and gave her mom a hug. "Okay, I'll admit that there is something bothering me..." her mother started to say something, but Jane cut her off. "I just need time to figure things out for myself."
Her mother sighed, the muscles in her body finally relaxing. "Okay--but don't think that I'm going to let this go forever."
Jane stepped back and gave her mother a wry smile. " Oh, I know you won't."
