Author's Note I just re-edited this drabble using the wonder of text to speech program called Natural Voices. It picked up the shit load of mistakes that I made. Also thanks to lillyg for picking up on mistakes in the first place.
Summary: After almost a year a partnership Danny can pretty read Steve better than any book. It almost ridiculously easy to spot what his partner was trying to really say, to read to between the lines.



"You brought me, pizza."

"Yeah," Steve scratched the back of his head and looked down at his feet for a second before he looked up to meet his partner's gaze. " I knew you pobably wouldn't have time to go grocery shopping...so I brought some pizza over."

Danny bit back a smile. He knew this was Steve's way to check up on Danny after the ordeal of this past week. Danny knew all to well how close he had cut it. He could of very well could lost his life this week.

As a police officer, he knew that his work was dangerous, but last night was unwelcome reminder of the fact.

Danny knew without a doubt that this was just a an excuse--a lame excuse at that, to cover for the the fact Steve wanted to reassure himself that his partner was okay.

After almost a year of being partners, Danny can pretty much read Steve better than any book. It was almost ridiculously easy to spot what his partner was trying to really say.

To read between the lines.

Well come on, and sit down.," Danny patted the empty space next to him, "the pizza is getting cold."

Just for tonight, Danny would just humor his partner, and not mention that he had plenty of groceries in his refrigerator.
