Writing Manuals and Reflections (Part 1)
Mar. 8th, 2011 01:51 amSo I bought and downloaded several writing manuals today. One of them is Jurgen Wolff's Book 'Your Writing Coach: From Concept to Character, From Pitch to Publication'. And as I read writing manuals this will be the area will I reflect on my thoughts, my own mistakes in writing, and other emotional stuff.
To be honest, I needed this book years ago. Especially when I was just starting writing. I found a little process to research so I won't get so sucked into research that I forget to write. Which I admit that it was one of main problems.
The other which keeps posting my works in Friends Lock is the fear of rejection by other writers and readers. I admit it, I cringe when I look at somebody giving criticism to someone others work. And I'm so thin skinned, and insecure all around.
However, my worst fear is turn into another Stephanie Meyer. Someone can't listen to her readers concerns and answer them sincerely. And if need be adjust her work when certain elements of one story or even grammar doesn't fly.
I refuse to be this person, this type of writer.
I also realized that if my stories/novels don't completely match my inner vision, that it's okay. And how to use as motivation in my other books.
I'm actually excited to be reading this book, and I still haven't finished reading The Joy Of Writing Sex.
And I have gotten so many good tips in writing my own sex scenes, without diminishing there own meeting in the plot. However, I will save that for a later post.
So TTFN,
Adrianne B.
